Tweezers at the ready in nursery

This week 3 Year Nursery have been practicing their fine motor skills. They have done this various ways through dough disco lessons, using whole punches in the creative area, using tweezers to pick up small objects and using different mark making tools. Fine motor skills develop the coordination of small muscles in movement with the eyes, hands, and fingers. The development of fine motor skills depends on the development of gross motor skills and a joined-up approach to physical development is important. Please encourage daily activities at home such as climbing, running, jumping as well as using cutlery, pegs, pencils, crayons, and playdough. All these activities will promote and support your child’s physical development.
