This week in Reception children have enjoyed engaging with different stories and developing their love of reading. We have dressed up on World book day as our favourite characters and enjoyed reading with families. We have talked about our favourite stories and what we like about them. We also had a great opportunity for some Year 3 children to come to our classes and read to us, we loved reading with them and talking about the pictures. Early reading skills in Reception are a fundamental part of early development. Children build their love of reading through listening to stories, acting out stories as well using their imagination to make up their own stories!
