3YN #17 Hocus Pocus Potions
This week 3YN have started their new ‘Growth’ topic which is based on the story Jasper’s Beanstalk. Part of the learning this week has focused on saying the days of the week in order. Ask your child if they can tell you the days of the week. We have had quite a dry week for weather and the children in 3YN have made the most of this. They have been very eager to explore outdoors and have had a particular interest in the mud kitchen. Lots of children have enjoyed cooking and roleplaying in the mud kitchen. By creating opportunities for children to play with mud, petals, stones, herbs, and natural materials we allow children to use their senses when they are playing. Mixing, tipping, pouring strengthens their hand muscles and develops their coordination. Children are then exposed to new language, use numbers and quantities through play, and are developing their creative skills.
