We’re entering…Great Yorkshire Show here we come

Reception have had a great first week back and have made a strong start on our topic- ‘On the Farm’. Children have been learning poems about farm animals as well as thinking about where each of the farm animals live on the farm and what kind of home they have. They have also been learning about the names of young animals such as chick, calf, foal, piglet and puppy. On Friday farm animals visited the school and all of the children in Reception got the chance to touch, stroke and learn more information about the animals. Children have also been continuing with some of the learning from our ‘Growth’ topic as we get ready for the Great Yorkshire Growing competition that we have entered. The children were very excited to help prepare the giant planter box in which our plants and vegetables will grow! For more ideas to on activities to support your child’s learning and development explore the 50 Things to Do | Bradford website.
