What a busy three days Y1 have had! The highlight was certainly our time in the woodland firstly making the character Stickman and then playing with them and retelling the story we have been working on in class. In addition your children have started to use the ‘make 10’ strategy for addition with numbers within 20 (ie. 8 + 5 is the same as 8+2 and then 3 more). We do all this with cubes and 10s frames. All this impressive learning was done against the backdrop of our mini flood – well done Year 1!
