This week in Reception children have been expanding their knowledge of 2D shapes by looking at the different properties the shapes have. They have sorted physical shapes using sorting hoops as well as sorting pictures of shapes. They looked at properties such as curved sides or straight sides. Children have also been looking at and going on a shape hunt in the environment. This weekend and over the holidays encourage your child to spot any shapes around the house- these could be 2D or 3D.
